Bill Zhu | Fulbright Scholarship

Featured

Class of 2019

Trinity Old Boy Bill Zhu (’19) has won a Fulbright scholarship to study neuroscience in the US. The UNSW honours graduate has received a fully-funded five-year scholarship, starting in August, and is awaiting word on whether he will enrol at Harvard in Boston, UCLA in Los Angeles or the Albert Einstein Medical College in New York City.

The scholarship will enable him to research the molecular neurobiology underpinning cognitive dysfunction and symptom progression in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. “Alzheimer’s disease is the single most prevalent neurodegenerative disease in the world today, and it still lacks an effective clinical intervention,” he said.

When in Year 10, Bill undertook the Morrisby testing and discovered his passion for medicine, which ultimately led him to his current pursuit of neuroscience. Our current Year 10 cohort recently completed Morrisby testing which provides a valuable opportunity to explore their interests and potential career paths.
