While the summer break is an opportunity for students and staff to relax and enjoy some time off, the Renewal Project is full steam ahead, taking advantage of the empty campus and great weather to achieve milestones and keep the project on track.
In fact, this summer break was packed full of milestones; some were celebrated quietly, laying the foundations for further work, while others received fanfare, marking significant turning points in the Renewal Project’s progression.
These included:
As Term 1 gets underway, the Student Engagement Program continues, with Mr Lachlan White and his Year 12 students attending the project site for a 45-minute walkthrough. Accompanied by the Project Building Team, they heard about construction processes, challenges on site, coordination concerns, contractor relationship navigation, hazards, and the intricacy of coordinating building projects in a lively school environment.
A second Year 12 Construction class is due to have a similar experience in the coming weeks.
Throughout the remainder of February and March, internal works are due to ramp up. This includes forming the internal walls – brickwork and metal studwork – of the classrooms, office and General Learning Areas, forming new double height brick arches to the Library, glass balustrades for internal staircases, waterproofing and tiling of bathrooms, and the first fix installation of electrical and hydraulic services.
By the end of February, the external framing and glazing of all windows in the new building is due to commence.
We look forward to the progress that will be made throughout 2026 and to sharing that progress with you through these updates.
