FAQs

FAQs about the Trinity Alumni and Development Office

What upcoming events or activities are being organised for alumni?
From business breakfasts to careers fairs and golf days, the School is involved in facilitating numerous alumni events, not least being ‘milestone’ cohort reunions. An important part of the annual calendar is the Back to Trinity Day, supported by the Old Trinitarian’s Union and the day the Alumni office hosts five-year reunions.
See the events page on the Alumni website for what’s coming up, register to receive our regular eNewsletter where they are also promoted, and follow the School’s social media feeds.

Are there any platforms or initiatives in place to facilitate networking among alumni?
Yes – quite a few! For online, the first place to start is the School’s alumni membership site. Please
set up your profile, which will mean you are able to login. This will then enable access to several networking groups, from industry to interests. These are growing; if you have an idea for a networking group, contact the Alumni office. We need alumni ambassadors for special-interest groups.

There’s also an online business directory if you’re a business owner or other professional keen to network and referrals to other Trintarians in business. Upload your business profile here.

Face-to-face, the School also offers business networking events: metro, regional, interstate and overseas. See the events page on the website.

How do interstate and overseas gatherings of alumni happen?
When the Headmaster is travelling on School business, we usually try to run an alumni event that he can attend as a way of connecting Old Boys to the School.

Are there regular gatherings or active networks of alumni outside of Sydney?
The Alumni and Development Office are always keen to hear from scattered members of the Trinity community who would like to connect with one another and the School.

How could I get involved with a gathering or network outside of Sydney?
Register your details
on the Alumni database and we will let you know when something is planned. Alternatively, let us know if you would like to help us facilitate such a gathering or network.

How can I access the Alumni directory to connect with former classmates or professionals in my field?
First by becoming a member of the School’s alumni membership site. Please
set up your profile and log in. This will enable access to several networking groups, from industry to interests, and allow you to connect with former classmates and professionals in your field. Professionals and Business owners are also able to upload a business profile and browse the Alumni business directory.

What resources or support does the alumni office provide for career development and job placement?
The Trinity Alumni Mentoring Program is designed to connect our alumni leaders and entrepreneurs with aspirational young graduates and professionals within the Trinity Alumni Community.

Are there opportunities for alumni to volunteer or get involved with the School in various capacities?
Absolutely! If you would like to become a career mentor, have business experience to offer as a speaker at our events, volunteer to help host a reunion, or wish to lead a special interest group,
please contact us.

Can you provide updates on recent developments or achievements within the School community?
Both the School and Alumni websites are updated weekly with latest news, so we encourage you to bookmark the pages and become a regular visitor. Our regular Alumni enewsletter contains updates from School community life, as well as the bi-annual Trinity News that is emailed (and, on request, posted) to Alumni who have subscribed. Our social media feeds also showcase recent news, achievements and developments.

How can Alumni contribute to the School through donations or other forms of support?
We are thankful for the generous gifts of time and support our alumni offer the School. These include:

Financial Donations: Alumni can make monetary donations to support scholarships, academic programs, research initiatives, campus facilities, and other areas of need.

Volunteerism: Alumni can volunteer their time and expertise by serving as guest speakers, mentors, or advisors to students. They can also participate in alumni-led initiatives or events.

Networking: Alumni can help facilitate networking opportunities by connecting current students with professionals in their field, offering career advice, or providing internship or job opportunities.

Advocacy: Alumni can advocate for the School by promoting its achievements, sharing success stories, and representing the institution positively in their communities and professional networks.

In-Kind Donations: Alumni can donate goods, services, or resources that could benefit the School

Legacy Giving: Alumni can consider including the School in their estate planning by making bequests, establishing trusts, or creating endowed funds to provide long-term support.

To express interest in and find out more about any of the above, please contact the Alumni and Development Office

Can you share any recent success stories or notable achievements of alumni?
Yes; the current School Prospectus showcases our alumni, so too the bi-annual Trinity News magazine, and our social and website platforms. The growth and success of our Trinity Alumni is something the School is proud to share. As part of our ethos to grow good men, we actively seek to promote interesting stories about our old boys. Let us know yours
via the form on our alumni news webpage.
