Donald Gould (’59) was warmly welcomed back to the quad as the guest of honour at Trinity’s 2024 Anzac Commemoration.
The 81-year-old Trinitarian is the son of Francis Gould (’34), one of 44 old boys to have died serving their country in war. Donald was just two years old when his father’s Lancaster bomber was shot down by German anti-aircraft guns near Gravenhorst on February 21, 1945. Francis Gould was buried in Holland.
Donald was welcomed by Headmaster Tim Bowden before the School remembered all of the fallen and paid “particular honour” to his father.
