Alumni Spotlight |
In addition to the longstanding participation of the Old Trinitarians’ Union (OTU) in the School’s career guidance initiatives, the OTU runs an informal Mentoring Program for younger Old Boys seeking professional insights, career guidance, and networking connections within the Old Boy community. We’re aiming to expand participation in the Program and would love more Old Boys to be involved.
Who’s involved? We’re pleased that several prominent, highly credentialed Old Boys across a range of industries have agreed to be mentors, including major professions, trades, small business and not-for-profit. Mentors include founders, C-Suite executives, business owners and experts in their fields.
What’s involved? Mentees can search for or request connection with a mentor via the Trinity Alumni website. Once connected, mentors and mentees themselves decide their level of interaction – it can be one-off or ongoing and involve chatting about careers and jobs, reviewing a CV, or providing industry contacts.
Benefits of involvement?
For mentors – helping younger Old Boys, recognition of your achievements, and potential networking and recruitment opportunities. Helping to provide the sort of insight that you would like to have received early in your career or would like your son or daughter to receive.
For mentees – gaining industry contacts, connections with fellow Old Boys, real insight into what a job is like, and career progression tips.
How to get involved? If you’d like to be a mentor or be mentored, or check-out the impressive group of Old Boy mentors involved, please visit and sign-up to the Trinity Alumni website. You’ll be able to be, or search for, a mentor by industry and specialisation. If you’re looking for a mentor in an industry or field that isn’t listed, please let us know and we’ll leverage our network to help find a mentor.
We’d also love to hear from other members of the School community (parents, friends, relatives) if they would like to be involved in mentoring Old Boys.
Further questions? If you have further questions about the OTU Mentoring Program, please contact Richard Bishop, Director of Alumni Relations or Stephen Pardy, OTU Vice President and Mentoring Program Co-ordinator through the Alumni office.
