Last year saw Liam Scott (‘18), headed to Chennai, selected by the MRF Academy for a unique cricket experience.
Cricket Australia works in partnership with the MRF Academy (Headed up by Director of Coaching, Glenn McGrath), to provide a customised experience. Those selected are immersed in a schedule that combines match play with intense training opportunities and access to strength and conditioning facilities.
Liam says it was an “Awesome experience in Chennai, learning more about the batting craft, and experimenting with various methods in different conditions”.
He has since returned to India for an Australia A Tour, playing two First Class games and three one-day games.
“We played against some of India’s best players and were able to do really well during the tour. We played in Lucknow and it was awesome to rub heads with those that have played for Australia or are close to.”
Liam is currently an All-rounder for South Australia (Glenelg) as well as playing Big Bash for the Adelaide Strikers and we look forward to seeing his progress as he continues to learn from some of the best players in the game.
