NBA player Tyrese Proctor ('21) visits Trinity on his recent trip home

From cricket grounds and basketball courts to water polo pools and volleyball arenas, Trinity Grammar School Old Boys continue to represent Australia at the highest level of international sport.

Across four sports, five Trinitarians are currently involved in Australian national programs, competing against the world's best and carrying on a proud tradition of sporting excellence. Their journeys have taken them from Trinity teams and CAS competitions to international arenas, demonstrating where talent, dedication and hard work can lead.

Tyrese Proctor ('21) – Basketball

Tyrese Proctor continues to establish himself as one of the leading figures of Australia's next generation of basketball talent.

Following three outstanding seasons at Duke University, where he captained the Blue Devils and helped lead the program to the NCAA Final Four, Tyrese was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2025 NBA Draft. He remains an important member of the Australian Boomers program and recently featured in Australia's FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying campaign.

Tyrese first represented Australia as a teenager and was a member of the Boomers squad that won gold at the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup.

His basketball journey began at Trinity in 2016, where his talent quickly became apparent. Tyrese was named MVP of both the Year 7A and Year 8A Basketball teams before earning selection in the 1st V as a Year 9 student. The following season, at just 15 years of age, he was named MVP of the 1st V and selected in the CAS 1st Basketball Team.

At the conclusion of Year 10, Tyrese accepted a scholarship to Basketball Australia's NBA Global Academy in Canberra. Despite now competing at the highest level of world basketball, Tyrese remains closely connected to Trinity. During a recent visit to the School, he joined current players for a training session, sharing his experiences from Duke University, the Boomers and the NBA.

Liam Scott ('18) – Cricket

Liam Scott's selection to make his One Day International debut for Australia marked another milestone in what has been a remarkable rise through the Australian cricket ranks.

The 25-year-old all-rounder earned his maiden Australian cap during the ODI series against Bangladesh after a breakthrough period in domestic cricket. Liam was named Sheffield Shield Player of the Season and played a key role in South Australia's back-to-back Sheffield Shield titles, while also earning selection in the Big Bash League Team of the Tournament for his outstanding performances with the Adelaide Strikers.

His call-up to the national side followed years of success in representative cricket, including appearances for Australia A and Australian Under-19 teams.

Liam's cricketing excellence was evident throughout his time at Trinity. He represented NSW and Australian Schoolboys teams and was a member of the School's CAS Premiership-winning 1st XI sides in both 2017 and 2018. His progression from schoolboy representative cricket to the Australian national team is a testament to years of dedication, hard work and consistent performance at every level of the game.

William "Davo" Hickey ('17) – Basketball

Will "Davo" Hickey has become one of Australian basketball's most inspiring success stories.

A member of Australia's Boomers program, Davo represented Australia as part of the squad that won gold at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup and has continued his involvement in the national team's FIBA World Cup qualifying campaign.

The past 18 months have been particularly memorable. He played a key role in helping the Illawarra Hawks secure the 2025 NBL Championship. Most recently, Davo has been starting at point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Summer League.

A proud Wiradjuri and Gamilaroi/Gomeroi man, Davo was an outstanding contributor to Trinity's Basketball program. He played a key role in the School's CAS Premiership-winning teams in 2016 and 2017 and was named Trinity Basketball MVP in 2017.

Tristan Glanznig ('20) – Water Polo

Tristan Glanznig continues to establish himself within Australia's men's water polo program, the Aussie Sharks.

Since making his senior international debut in 2023, Tristan has become a regular member of Australia's national squad. Most recently, he represented Australia at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships.

During his time at Trinity, Tristan established himself as one of the School's leading Water Polo players. Between 2017 and 2020, he earned Australian Representative Medals for Water Polo in 2018, 2019 and 2020. He was part of Trinity's CAS Premiership-winning 1st VII Water Polo team in 2018, represented CIS Water Polo in 2019, and received The Grant Simms Memorial Trophy for Best and Fairest Player in the 1st VII in 2020.

Steven Yarad ('22) – Volleyball

Leadership and service have always been hallmarks of Steven Yarad's character.

Since graduating from Trinity, Steven has continued his development as one of Australia's most promising young volleyball players. After representing Australia at the 2025 AVC Men's Nations Cup, he again wore the green and gold in June 2026 when selected in Australia's squad for the AVC Men's Volleyball Cup in India.

Steven’s leadership qualities were evident throughout his time at Trinity. In 2022, he served as both School Captain and Captain of Volleyball. Across his years in senior representative Volleyball, he was part of multiple premiership-winning teams, including Summer and Winter premierships in 2020, and the Summer Premiership in 2021. In his final year, he captained the 1st VI to both the CAS Summer and CAS Winter Volleyball Premierships. His achievements were also recognised beyond Trinity with the Australian Representative Medal for Volleyball in 2022

Whether on cricket fields, basketball courts, water polo decks or volleyball courts, these five Old Boys continue to represent Trinity Grammar School with distinction.
