Building good character into our young men

It is always a real pleasure to see young Old Boys doing well in their chosen paths. Three such young men are James Bednaic (2019) in the Royal Australian Navy, Hamish Agnew (2021) in the Royal Australian Air Force and Edward Feng (2021) in the Australian Army.

They all attend the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in Canberra at different levels and tiers of study. They are all on the path to becoming Officers in their chosen strand of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The photos attached below were taken at the Chief of Defence Parade at ADFA last Saturday the 25th February. All three Old Boys featured heavily in the Parade.

James left the School in 2019 and was an esteemed member of the School’s Army Cadet Unit, and in his final year held the post of the Operations Officer (OPSO). In the photo attached he had the honour of being part of the Flag Party for the Parade. He is the young man marching in all white (to represent the Navy) closest to the camera.

Hamish and Edward both left the School in 2021 after fulfilling important roles in the School’s Army Cadet Unit in their final year at the School, Hamish as the Executive Officer (XO) and Edward as a Logistics Commander. Both young men were also awarded the esteemed Adventure Training Award (ATA) in their senior years at the School as well.

All three young men are a wonderful reminder of building good character into our young men of the School and a brilliant advertisement for the Australian Army Cadet (AAC) organisation and their program across the country.

Well done, young men – keep charging!

God bless,

Richard Bishop (1987)
