Student Journalist of the Year - Tyson Jackson (Class of 2021)

Congratulations Tyson Jackson ('21) – The University of Notre Dame on winning the Student Journalist of the Year at the 2023 Kennedy Awards.

Named after the trailblazing indigenous journalist Les Kennedy, the Kennedy Awards were initially conceived in 2011 to recognise excellence in journalism in the State of NSW.

The 2023 Kennedy Awards winners were announced at a function in Sydney on Friday 18 August 2023.

Tyson joined the School as a little fellow in the Junior School in Year 4 in 2013. He completed Year 12 in 2021 as a loved School Officer.

He is fondly remembered by Staff as a boy who worked very hard at school in those years in the Junior School. In his Senior School years he was known for his love of Rugby and for being a top bloke and mate to many.

The School is very proud of his achievement in winning this award. It is a great advertisement for the all-round, character forming and building  education the School is known for.

Well done Tyson!
