Renewal Project: March Lookahead

Term 1 is in full swing which means we can look back over the progress that has been made over the School holidays and look forward to what’s to come throughout the rest of the Term. There are some exciting updates, including certain parts of the project already completed and in use.

Stage 1 – Seaview Street Maintenance Building

Maintenance Building blockworks, steelworks and onsite stormwater detention tank have been completed. The internal installation of services provisions will now progress through March.

Stage 1 – Ceremonial Access

New pedestrian access from Prospect Rd, opposite Chapel Drive bus shelter, is still under construction, however the footpath on the northern side of the War Memorial Chapel to the Quadrangle has now been completed and in use for Term 1 onwards.

Stage 1 – Quad Access

The new paving around the Quadrangle has been completed and in use for Term 1 onwards.

Stage 2 – Jubilee Driveway

The new Jubilee Driveway has been operational since the start of Term 1 and with the new traffic movement working well. Pedestrian access on Jubilee Drive will still be restricted to the northern side of the driveway for the time being and current staffing levels and traffic management will continue.

Stage 2 – Oval No. 3 & new Carpark

The work to Carpark 3 is still progressing with a number of major concrete pours taking place in February and March. More than 90% of the excavation has been completed with the remaining soil to be removed in the next 3-4 weeks. Finally, the remaining earthquake foundation piles and footings are continuing to the Basement (final stages of concrete pours 6 & 7) with the expectation that these pours will be completed mid-March.

Public Domain works

These works have been deferred until the April holidays.
