Being in something together – whether that’s as part of a team, cheering on the sideline, gathering with your House on Quad, being on the stage or in the crowd at the Battle of the Bands, or volunteering at a BBQ – is more powerful and meaningful than being alone.
At Trinity, we do life together. Not just with each other, either, but for each other. As Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 puts it: "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But woe to the one who falls and has no one to help them up." It’s an important distinction. You can be with someone, or many people, yet feel totally alone.
However, being together for each other, has intent and impact. As our parents know, Trinity is a school that will be for their sons. In turn, we desire to help you grow good men who will be there for others. The School is a community in which we belong, and to which we contribute.
The desire to be ‘for others’ summarises the motivations underlying the Trinity Grammar School (TGS) Foundation, and its Trusts, particularly the Scholarship Trust which was established in 2022. These motivations include:
The hunch was proven correct! Together, more than 2,000 donors have contributed more than one million dollars since 2022 to the TGS Foundation and the Scholarship Trust, primarily via the annual Giving Day. Gifts of both time and money, generously donated by old boys, past parents, current staff, students and parents, has enabled seven fully-funded scholarships for Middle and Senior School students in 2025. For these boys, the opportunity is life-changing, and it’s a joy to see each of them making the most of it.
The 2025 Trinity Grammar School Foundation Giving Day (12 – 13 June) is just around the corner. The power of ‘Trinity Together’ - of being ‘for others’ - is making a wonderful impact on the seven Foundation Scholars now attending our School. Our desire is to widen the gate for more Foundation Scholars in 2026.
The School’s Development Office is the ‘home’ of the TGS Foundation, which exists to support the philanthropic vision of the School—enabling opportunities that tuition alone cannot fund. These include scholarships, future building projects, and other strategic initiatives that benefit current and future students. To guide and grow this important work, Trinity has appointed a Director of Development, Leanne Dib, whose role is to engage our community, steward donor relationships, and lead campaigns such as Giving Day that bring the School’s mission to life through generosity.
Leanne is available to answer your questions and help you explore how you might support this year’s TGS Foundation Giving Day (with tax deductibility), or to discuss other areas of focus that the TGS Foundation offers. Please contact her via our Development Office.
