Edward Rogerson passed away in September 2020 and his funeral was held at the School’s War Memorial Chapel on 12 September 2020. He and his wife Audrey were also the first people to be married in the Chapel on 15 November 1957.

Ted was a boarder for the duration of his time at the School, travelling back to Mungindi on the NSW/Queensland border for holidays to help on the farm. He was a quiet achiever who was patient and loyal. He loved a good story and a laugh. He was proud to be a Trinitarian and made lifelong friends while at the School, attending many Alumni events.

Upon leaving school he was provided with references from his Head Master, Mr James Wilson-Hogg and Mr Clarence Latham who both described him as a good sportsman in cricket and rugby as well as a good student with an inquiring mind who had a flair for writing.

He was proud to witness the younger generation of the family being educated at the School. His son, Andrew Rogerson (’85) and grandson, Matthew Peverell (’11) attended the School, while Lachlan Freeman is currently in Year 9. He was looking forward to his youngest grandson, Nikolaus Freeman attending, who joined the Junior School in 2022.

He is greatly missed by his family and friends.
