Darren Roy Hojel
1997 - 2025
The Trinity Grammar School community has been saddened to learn of the passing of Darren Roy Hojel, who died in 2025 at the age of 28.
Darren was born on 23 March 1997 and was educated at North Strathfield Public School before joining Trinity Grammar School, where he completed his secondary education and graduated in Year 12. During his time at Trinity, Darren was an active and enthusiastic participant in school life, particularly in sport. He represented the School in Cricket, Rugby, Basketball and Volleyball, later serving as Captain of the 1st Volleyball team.
Following his schooling, Darren undertook an apprenticeship as a chef and went on to work in a number of prominent hospitality venues in Sydney. At the time of his passing, he was employed at the Glenmore Hotel in The Rocks.
Darren maintained wide social and sporting connections beyond school. He will be remembered by many for his energy, warmth and generosity of spirit.
Darren’s passing was the result of complications associated with Type 1 diabetes.
He is fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the Trinity community. Our sincere condolences are extended to all who knew him.
