John was a proud Trinitarian who, being the son of one of the legends of the School, had big shoes to fill.
The Kerrigan family has had a long and established connection with the School. His father, Alan Beverly Kerrigan, was not only an Old Boy in the original class of 1913. Later in life, Alan was a fundamental member of a small group that kept the School open during it darkest hours. Kerrigan House is named after him.
John went through the Preparatory School and then headed off to Sydney Grammar for his Secondary Schooling. His brothers (Brian (dec.) and David) attended Trinity for their entire Secondary Schooling.
John went on to have a successful career in the Law. He became a Partner at Allen Allen & Hemsley and later was appointed as a Queen's Counsel.
Considered a fierce intellect with a sharp wit, he was always good company and will be sorely missed.
