Obituaries

Although Rodney Steventon did not attend Trinity Grammar School, he had been associated with the School since 1976 when he enrolled his son, Scott, in Pre-Kindergarten. Scott's brothers, Matthew and Andrew, followed soon after.

Andrew's final year was 1996.

Rodney's wife, Sue, was a teacher at the Preparatory School for twenty-one years.

The connection with the School continues - with two of Rod’s grandsons, Charles in Year 5 and Samuel in Year 3 who are at the Preparatory School in Strathfield.

Many Old Trinitarians can recall, with affection, spending time as young boys on Rodney's property at Parkes where every day was a new adventure. Over the years, many staff members visited Rodney's Chiropractic Clinic at Burwood.

Many students, especially athletes, divers and swimmers sought him out to repair aching muscles and joints.

Rodney was a passionate teacher. Scores of chiropractic students worked with him, observing his techniques. He would generously share his knowledge and skills with each one.

In the year 2000, Rodney was awarded the Chiropractors' Association Chiropractic Award for his contribution to the profession and, specifically, student education.

A generous and caring man who gave to others right through his life and gave to this community of ours over a long period of time. Rod will be sorely missed by all.
