David Leslie Scutts ('55)

I would like to advise the School and Old Boys of the passing of David Scutts on the 27th July 2023.

David entered Trinity Prep. in 1946 and completed his school education at Summer Hill in 1955 gaining a matriculation pass in the L.C. and was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship.

He was an above average student who participated in all facets of Trinity life including some years on the Triangle committee, was a cadet Warrant Officer, School Prefect, Archer House captain and Vice Captain of the School in 1955.

David also excelled in the sporting arena representing the School in swimming and captained both the 2nd XI and the 2nd XV.

After leaving Trinity, David studied Law and became a partner in the firm of Truman, Stocker & Scutts. On becoming senior partner David undertook a series of amalgamations that grew the firm to a size requiring several floor levels in the Sydney CBD.

David was a leader in his profession and his legal prowess and his attributes of public service, humanity and fairness were widely acknowledged.

Following his retirement David and his wife of 60 years, Carmen, relocated to Terranora Hts. to pursue his life long passion for fishing.

David was a loving husband and father, a true friend and a great mate.
